There Will Be No Perry Sesame Street

“Sesame Street” is known for numerous of its guest appearances, including Perry, that appear on the show, although the Perry “Sesame Street” show will not be airing anytime soon. There is a part where the vocalist and Elmo sing a duet together. Some parents were upset with the clothing choice that Perry wore in her duet singing “Hot and Cold” with Elmo. The video was seen by mothers and fathers as it was leaked on YouTube. This is when parents decided it was time to send letters and emails in complaining, resulting in the sketch being pulled. Jim Henson productions, including “Sesame Street,” have been known for the celebrity appearances on the show. Within the last year, Katy Perry has had hits get a lot of radio and music video on TV airtime because she is so well-liked at the moment. It makes perfect sense to get Katy Perry the gig. She should be on “Sesame Street.” She sings “Hot and Cold” with Elmo in one scene of the show. Mothers and fathers weren’t mad because of the song as it was altered to be kid friendly.

Elmo is one of the most popular characters on the show. The clip of Perry singing with him was leaked out on YouTube to be watched be anyone. The producers quickly got e-mails and letters about the clip. These individuals felt kids shouldn’t be watching that type of clothing on women. MSNBC reports that there is too much cleavage for children in her outfit although the segments with Katy Perry singing is just fine.

Avoiding troubles by dropping the segment

In response to the outrage from concerned parents, the producers of the show decided to pull the segment. Neither Perry nor her fiancé Russel Brand have commented, although the clip is on YouTube nevertheless.
